2015 was filled with an abundance of highs and lows, along with personal growth, rekindling passions and meeting lots of new people. It was my first year studying Psychology, the year I began dancing again, the year a few friendships fell apart however various others blossomed, a year filled with battling copious amounts of stress and sometimes crappy mental health. Overall, it was a year that I began the journey of getting to know who I am and who I want to be.
I'm ready for a fresh start, a clean slate - a new year. It's not going to be yet another "new year, new me" mindset however instead it's going to be a year of bettering myself, striving to be the best I can be and working towards being the person I want to be. The moment you change who you are, it's the moment you succumb to the pressure of the people and situations around you, instead embrace who you are now and strive to be who you want to be. There were so many resolutions I wanted to make this year but I realised that I needed to cut the list down to a maximum of 15 things, because I wanted to concentrate on the things I want to accomplish as opposed to being confronted and demotivated by the huge list of resolutions. Here are the things I wish to successfully tackle in 2016...
Spend early mornings unplugged so that I have time to myself with a cup of tea, and a book.
Stop placing limits on myself, undermining myself and start believing that I can do anything I put my mind to
Try a few new hobbies and commit to working on bettering my skills instead of giving up the moment I hit an obstacle
Create and stick to a budget and savings plan (like, really this time!)
Get back into fitness and start buying groceries from farmers markets
Start supporting local businesses
Make some new friends and strengthen bonds with friends and family
Read more. I aim to read at least 50 books this year!
Stop procrastinating, instead manage my time and work more efficiently
Improve my fashion sense, dress with confidence so that I feel more confident
Cleanse and declutter my room every 6 months because I tend to hoard
Say no to negativity. Stop putting up with negative people, situations and influences and start embracing the positive ones
Rekindle my faith in the Lord and spending time on growing my relationship with Him ;
Commit to a new Bible study plan each month
Start actively going to church and making it a priority as opposed to telling myself I'll watch the message online and never doing so.
