Over the summer holidays, I flew down to Malaysia to celebrate Christmas and New Years with my family and friends over there. Sephora and MAC had this magnetic force that constantly pulled me into their store, and I'd end up walking out with maybe one, two or five products and some damage done to my bank account.
The first thing I bought whilst I was there was a pack of 10 assorted Sephora Collection Sheet Masks for RM50, I thought it was a bargain as usually the masks retail for between RM10 - RM15 per mask. I do wish I picked up some of their eye masks as well as they had a good deal on those over the Christmas season as well and so many beauty Youtubers rave about them . Whilst I was in the store, I knew I had to get my hands on a few foundations and concealers as the brands available in Perth are limited and being the shade I am, I would much rather test out the products in store as opposed to go out on a whim and buy it online without the guarantee of it being my shade. I tried the Urban Decay Naked Skin, Marc Jacobs Genius Gel and the Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundations and decided that I would go home, read reviews and pick the one I liked the most before purchasing it. I ended up purchasing both the Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation in Y425 and the Marc Jacobs Genius Gel foundation in Cocoa Medium along with the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer in Dark Neutral.
As I was walking around Mid Valley Megamall, I walked into Inglot and realised that I had never seen the brand around Perth and rarely heard about them. The beauty advisor that served me was incredibly helpful and applied their primer, foundation, concealer and some blush, I fell in love! It looked so flawless, natural and it was a perfect match to my skin tone! I walked out of Inglot with their Young Skin Makeup foundation in the shade 53, their Under Eye Concealer in 98 along with their Freedom System Palette and a gorgeous AMC Face Blush in 58 which is a beautiful deep mauve shade similar to Illamasqua's Naked Rose.
A few days later, I went into Mac to pick up some nude lipsticks as I purchased Paramount earlier in the year but then realised I wouldn't really wear it. I tried on 3-4 lipsticks and immediately knew which ones I wanted in possession! Surprise surprise, none of them are even close to being nude. I walked out with Quite the Standout from their newly released Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick range along with Relentlessly Red, D for Danger and a Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Dark Out.
The day before I was flying back to Perth, I made one last trip to Sephora with the intent of buying a good eyeliner and BB cream. This time, I did stick to my limits and purchased the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Caramel, the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black as it was constantly raved about in the beauty industry and I also succumbed to the impulse buy section as I was lining up to pay and purchased a travel sized version of the Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray designed for oil control as it was summer in Perth and I sometimes find that frying an egg on my face is possible with the amount of oil my skin produces. Gross, I know!
